Each year multiple churches and various businesses in the Guthrie, Oklahoma area join together to host a Children's Festival known as the "Back Yard Bash". In previous years, the festival was held on three consecutive weeknights; however, this year it will be on a Friday night and all-day Saturday. The location is currently at Cotton Wood Flats just west of downtown Guthrie.
The heart of this effort is to link arms with others in our community to provide a fun and safe environment for the children of Guthrie and Logan County so they might enjoy free food, music, inflatable toys, carnival games, give-a-ways and Bible stories. Ultimately, we hope to sow seeds about the Lord Jesus Christ and encourage children and their families to become connected to a local church.
Throughout each festival and on all printed materials, we have made it a priority to not promote any single church or business. Our hope is people will experience the body of Christ united for the common good of our community promoting only our great Lord.
Everyone is invited to participate in the 2010 Children's Festival. The dates are Friday evening (July 30) and all-day Saturday (July 31). For more information or to participate, send a e-mail to coordinator@childrensfestival.info.
